Popis
Benoquin Monobenzone Cream is a topical depigmenting medication whose active ingredient is monobenzone. It’s primarily used under medical supervision in the treatment of extensive vitiligo — a condition where large areas of the skin lose pigment to permanently lighten the remaining normally-pigmented skin so it matches the vitiligo-affected areas. What It Is Active Ingredient: Monobenzone (usually 20% strength) — a potent depigmenting agent. Form: Topical cream applied to the skin. Category: Depigmenting medicine (not a cosmetic bleaching product). How It Works Monobenzone causes loss of melanin (the pigment that gives skin its color) by increasing melanin elimination and destroying melanocytes (the cells that make melanin). This leads to permanent depigmentation of treated areas. What It’s Used For Vitiligo: To depigment unaffected skin so that it blends with vitiligo patches, giving a more uniform skin tone when large body surface areas (usually >50%) are involved. It is not recommended for cosmetic lightening, freckles, melasma, or normal dark spots unrelated to vitiligo.
